Diamond and Emerald: Behind the Scenes

Dear readers,

Diamond and Emerald started out as having a totally different storyline than it actually had. Diamond and Emerald are the fish introduced in Polly and Penny. Diamond was never actually named Diamond. When I wrote the book, I couldn't remember what Diamond's original name was when I was planning the book in my head, so I decided to name her Diamond. 

As you will soon find out, Diamond and Emerald's storyline was that Emerald wanted Diamond to be more mature, but Diamond was never able to know how. The original storyline was nothing like this. But I cannot say what that storyline was, because I cannot remember. 

The first time I wrote Diamond and Emerald, I did not get through the whole book. Not even close. But I do remember that I was 7 when I wrote it. The second time that I tried to write it, I knew it right in my head. Diamond and Emerald sounded perfect. I came up with a storyline. I thought it was good, but I was never able to figure out when each part of the plot should take place. I added a part too early in the book, and then I gave up on the book. But now, since I have already given you a behind the scenes peak at Diamond and Emerald, I'm guessing you all would like to read the story, so I intend to make it!
